Today, June 10, 2016, the Wine development team was proud to announce the release and immediate availability of yet another milestone towards the major Wine 2.0 software for running Windows apps and games on GNU/Linux distributions.
Wine 1.9.12 is the twelve point release in the Wine 1.9 development series, coming two weeks after the launch of Wine 1.9.11 to improve the Shader Model 4 support in Direct3D, add an initial built of a taskbar in desktop mode, improve the metafile support in RichEdit, and fix right-to-left (RTL) languages in Uniscribe.
Moreover, it appears that Wine 1.9.12 contains a major update to the Mono engine, which promises to patch a lot of the issues discovered lately, and, of course, resolves many of the bugs reported by users since Wine 1.9.11 or previous development releases with various Windows games and applications.
A total of 20 bugs have been fixed in Wine 1.9.12
