A few moments ago, Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth had the great pleasure of announcing the codename of the next major Ubuntu Linux release, Ubuntu 16.10.
Mark Shuttleworth usually announces the codename of the following Ubuntu release a few days before the launch of the version that’s still in development, in this case, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus), but this time around, he posted the announcement on the same day.
There’s a very brief announcement from Mark Shuttleworth for the codename of Ubuntu 16.10, which has been dubbed Yakkety Yak. Yes, you’re reading it right, Ubuntu 16.10 will be known as Yakkety Yak. No joke!
