We reported back in August that Ubuntu project member Nathan Haines put together yet another Free Culture Showcase event were amazing artists would submit their beautiful wallpapers for the upcoming Ubuntu 16.10 operating system.
Today, October 6, 2016, Nathan Haines reports that Ubuntu 16.10 Free Culture Showcase is now closed, and a total of 189 stunning images were submitted by various photographers and digital artists from all over the world. However, only 12 are the lucky ones to be selected by community members for inclusion in Ubuntu 16.10.
In the order of appearance, the new default Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) wallpapers are Wanaka Tree by Stephane Pakula, Classic Guitar Detail by Sten Jørgen Pettersen, Yala Mountain by Geza Radics, Larung Gar by Night by Geza Radics, Alien Wing by Ralph Crützen, and Haukland Beach View b… (read more)
