Softpedia was informed today, November 17, 2016, by NethServer’s Alessio Fattorini about the immediate availability of the second and most probably the last Release Candidate (RC) version of the upcoming CentOS-based NethServer 7 Linux distro.
NethServer 7 has been in development since February, during which it received two Beta and two RC builds that added a large number of new features, new GNU/Linux and server-oriented technologies, as well as all the goodies from the upstream CentOS 7 Linux operating system, on which NethServer 7 is currently based. And today, NethServer 7 RC2 “Gnocchi” is here to address the last remaining issues.
First off, it looks like the skillful developers behind the NethServer project have managed to implement support for short legacy user names by enabling the @domain suffix in both user and group names.
