On February 17, 2016, The Linux Foundation non-profit organization informed the media about the birth of a new project to create an RTOS (Real-Time Operating System) for Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
The new project will be dubbed Zephyr and it promises to be an open source collaborative effort where anyone can contribute to the building of the most powerful real-time operating system for the Internet of Things ecosystem.
