The LibreELEC development team is announcing the availability of the second Beta release of the upcoming LibreELEC 8.0 “Krypton” open-source Linux-based operating system for embedded devices.
LibreELEC 8.0 has been in the works for quite some time now, tracking the development of the Kodi 17 “Krypton” open-source media center, which hit the streets in its final, production-ready state on the first day of February 2017, and it’s time for it to be promoted to the stable channel.
A second Beta build (version 7.95.2) has been seeded to public testers this weekend, based on the final Kodi 17 release, and it’s a small update that fixes an issue with MP3 and TagLib streams, addresses various media_build problems with certain IR (Infrared) drivers, and improves support for TT-S2-3600 DVB devices.
