The developers of the independently developed KaOS GNU/Linux distribution were proud to announce today the release and general availability of the KaOS 2017.04 ISO snapshot for the month of April 2017.
But it also happens that the KaOS project celebrates its fourth anniversary this monththis month. Therefore, on this occasion, they released a brand-new Plasma Wayland edition of the Linux-based operating system, along with the X11 standard flavor that was available for download until today.
“The Plasma Wayland version is a smaller ISO, ships with a more limited amount of applications than the regular Plasma version,” reads the announcement. “At this stage, a Wayland session can only be run on free graphics drivers and the live mode (plus install) will automatically switch to a regular X-based Plasma session.”
