The Debian-based Tails amnesic incognito live system, also known as the anonymous operating system, has been updated today to version 3.0.1, the first point release of the major Tails 3.0 stable series.

Launched last month on June 13, 2017, Tails 3.0 is the biggest update of the GNU/Linux distribution so far, entirely based on the latest Debian GNU/Linux 9 “Stretch” operating system and designed to work only on 64-bit computers. It’s also the first release to switch to the modern GNOME 3 desktop environment by default.

And now, almost three weeks later, the first point release of Tails 3.0 is out with a few updated applications, such as the latest Tor 0.3.0.9 client and server, Linux kernel 4.9.30-2 from the Debian Stretch repositories, as well as the latest security patches and a handful of bug fixes.
