Starting today, the Fedora 24 Linux operating system officially reached end of life and it will no longer receive security or software updates. Users are now urged to upgrade to a supported release, such as Fedora 25 or the newly launched Fedora 26.
Fedora Project’s Matthew Miller informed the community last week about the upcoming end of life support for Fedora 24 Linux, and today, August 8, 2017, is that day, when Fedora Project will stop feeding its software repositories with updates, which will make this release vulnerable to attacks.
“With the recent release of Fedora 26, Fedora 24 officially enters End Of Life (EOL) status on August 8th, 2017. After August 8th, all packages in the Fedora 24 repositories no longer receive security, bugfix, or enhancement updates. Furthermore, no new packages will be added to the Fedora 24 collection,” said Miller.
