Patrick Emmabuntüs is informing Softpedia today about the immediate availability for download of the Debian-based Emmabuntus Debian Edition 1.02 operating system.
Designed to revive those old computers donated to humanitarian organizations, as well as to promote the discovery of GNU/Linux and extend the lifespan of computer hardware, the Emmabuntüs distro received its second maintenance update for the Debian edition, based on Debian GNU/Linux 8.7 “Jessie” and the Xfce 4.12 desktop environment.
“This update is released to ease even more the refurbishing workload on all the associations using Emmabuntüs, and on our JerryClan friends in France and Africa who practice intensively the recycling of computer components while they are building their Jerry Do It Together,” reads the announcement.
