Today, November 18, 2016, Calibre developer Kovid Goyal announced the release and immediate availability of a new maintenance update for his widely-used, open-source, free, and cross-platform ebook library management software.
Calibre 2.72 arrives more than weeks after the Calibre 2.71 anniversary update that introduced a brand new icon theme. By the looks of it, the Calibre developer was quite busy adding a bunch of new useful features and options, starting with the implementation of automatic embedding for fonts that have abnormal weight and stretch values.
Besides font embedding, Calibre 2.72 ships with a new option that lets users abort an in-progress Copy-to-library operation, support for generating a @font-face rule when attempting to add a font using the File -> New menu item in the Edit Book component, as … (read more)
