Yes, it’s that time of the month again, when we can get our hands on a brand new bootable ISO image of the acclaimed and lightweight Arch Linux operating system.
The Arch Linux 2016.05.01 ISO was released on May 1, 2016, bringing us the latest GNU/Linux technologies that were released on the main software repositories of the operating system during the month of April.
Arch Linux 2016.05.01 is the first ISO image of the Arch Linux distro to be powered by a kernel from the Linux 4.5 series, which hit the stable channel sometime in mid-April 2016. The good news is that Arch Linux 2016.05.01 includes Linux kernel 4.5.1.
If you are an Arch Linux user, you don’t need to download the brand new Arch Linux 2016.05.01 ISO to keep your system up to date, but only run the “sudo pacman -Syu” or “yaourt -Syua” commands from time to time.
