Today, June 14, 2016, the developers behind the Debian-based antiX Linux operating system have published a brief announcement to inform the community about the availability of the Release Candidate build of antiX 16.
antiX 16 Linux has been in development for the past four months, since February 20, 2016, when the project’s developers released the first Alpha-labeled ISO images, based, of course, on the Debian Sid operating system.
One Alpha build and two Beta releases have been seeded to public beta testers since then, during which antiX 16 received many improvements, updated packages, and dozens of exciting new features are that are coming soon to a computer near you.
antiX 16 is now up to the RC (Release Candidate) state, which means that the development cycle is almost over, and the devs are preparing to unveil the final builds, which will ship with a custom, long-term supporte… (read more)
