Simplicity Linux 16.07 Has Arrived, Offers Flavors Based on LXPup and Debian

Today, July 31, 2016, the Simplicity Linux developers have proudly announced the general availability of the Simplicity Linux 16.07 GNU/Linux operating system for personal computers.

Simplicity Linux 16.07 comes three months after the previous stable release, Simplicity Linux 16.04, bringing lots of updated components and the latest GNU/Linux technologies. As usual, the distribution ships with the Mini and Desktop editions based on the lightweight LXPup OS, a Puppy Linux derivative using the LXDE desktop environment.

Additionally, there’s the X flavor, which features cutting-edge software projects and is based on the Debian GNU/Linux operating system with various technologies borrowed from the antiX Linux project. However, that doesn’t mean that Simplicity Linux is moving the base from Puppy Linux to Debian, at least not yet.
