Immediately after announcing the release of Linux kernel 4.6.5, renowned kernel developer Greg Kroah-Hartman published details about the sixteenth maintenance update for the long-term supported Linux 4.4 kernel series.
Linux 4.4 is currently the most advanced LTS (Long Term Support) kernel branch, and it is being used by numerous GNU/Linux operating systems keen on offering their users thoroughly tested kernel packages that receive security updates and new features for a couple of years.
