Today, June 30, 2016, the Lubuntu team has released the first Alpha build of the upcoming Lubuntu 16.10 operating system, as part of the Ubuntu 16.10 Alpha 1 release for opt-in flavors.
We’ve already told you what’s new in the Ubuntu MATE 16.10 Alpha 1 distribution, so now it’s time to take a look at the second of the three Ubuntu flavors that participated in the first Alpha release of the Yakkety Yak series.
However, since this is the first Alpha, you shouldn’t expect to see any major changes, as the Lubuntu 16.10 Alpha 1 operating system ships with same Linux 4.4 LTS kernel as Lubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus).
